Teressa Navarro

Writer, the Toolbox POD blog

I write the Toolbox POD blog: shirt design ideas, step-by-step guides to selling shirts, and straight comparisons of print-on-demand services, from the shop that prints them in Utah.

Hi, I’m Teressa
  • Favorite blank right nowComfort Colors 1717 in Pepper
  • Always on the deskA tape measure and a lint roller
  • Most-asked question“Will it crack in the wash?”

Most of what I write starts with a question someone asked us about a shirt: what to put on it, what it really costs once it ships, or why it looks the way it does after the tenth wash.

What this blog covers

Four kinds of posts, each with its own corner of the blog.

Design ideas

Shirt ideas by occasion and season, each one something you can make and order this week.

Guides

Starting and running a shirt business on Etsy, Shopify or your own site, step by step.

Shirts and printing

The blanks we print on, how DTF printing works, and what happens after you order.

Comparisons

Print-on-demand services side by side on real, landed costs, ours included.

What you will not find here

  • Prices typed from memory. Ours come from the live price list, and every other service's price carries the date we checked it.
  • Claims about other companies that we cannot point to a source for.
  • Advice to sell designs you do not have the rights to.

How I work

Topics come from questions customers send us and from what people search for. Before a post goes up, the numbers are checked against our price list and the print details against how our shop actually prints. If you spot something wrong, tell us and we will fix it.

Questions I get a lot

Do you print the shirts yourself?

No. Our production team in Utah prints and ships every order. I write about what they do and check the details with them.

Which blank should I start with?

If you are not sure, pick a soft, mid-weight tee in a dark color and order one sample. Holding the real shirt answers more questions than any size chart.

Can I suggest a topic?

Please do. Email support@toolboxpod.com with “Blog idea” in the subject line.
