# Toolbox POD AI connector

Tell your AI. We print it.

The Toolbox POD connector lets your AI app work in your Toolbox POD account. Ask it for a shirt and it can
design it, show you mockups, price and order it, and (invite-only, coming soon) publish it to your Shopify store. It uses an open standard
called MCP, so the same connector works in ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Hermes and any other app
that supports MCP servers.

Your AI works as you. It can do what you could do on our website, and never more. Nothing is charged until you set
a spending limit.

Step-by-step setup with copy buttons: https://toolboxpod.com/mcp

## Server address

One address for every app:

```
https://mcp.toolboxpod.com/mcp
```

No code and no API key. You sign in to Toolbox POD and click **Allow**.

## Connect your app

### ChatGPT

1. On chatgpt.com, open **Plugins**, click **+**, then **Add custom MCP server**.
2. Name it **Toolbox POD** and paste the server address. Authentication: **OAuth**. Leave the client fields empty.
3. Click **Continue**, then **Create**. Sign in to Toolbox POD and click **Allow**.
4. In a chat, type **@** and pick Toolbox POD.

Adding your own server needs Developer mode, on chatgpt.com.

### Claude

1. In Claude, open **Customize**, then **Connectors**, click **+**, then **Add custom connector**.
2. Name it **Toolbox POD**, paste the server address and click **Continue**.
3. A Toolbox POD page opens. Sign in and click **Allow**.

On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds the connector for everyone first.

### Claude Code

1. In your terminal:

   ```sh
   claude mcp add --transport http --scope user toolbox-pod https://mcp.toolboxpod.com/mcp
   ```

2. In Claude Code, type `/mcp`, pick **toolbox-pod**, then **Authenticate**.
3. Your browser opens Toolbox POD. Sign in and click **Allow**.

### Codex

1. In your terminal:

   ```sh
   codex mcp add toolbox-pod --url https://mcp.toolboxpod.com/mcp
   codex mcp login toolbox-pod
   ```

2. Your browser opens Toolbox POD. Sign in and click **Allow**.

Codex app: **Settings**, **MCP servers**, **Add server**, **Streamable HTTP**, then paste the server address.

### Cursor

The server entry:

```json
{"mcpServers":{"toolbox-pod":{"url":"https://mcp.toolboxpod.com/mcp"}}}
```

**Cursor app.** Open a project folder, then **Cursor Settings**, **MCP**, **Add**, and paste the entry. Click
**Connect** beside toolbox-pod, sign in and click **Allow**. The setup page also has a one-click **Add to Cursor**
button for the desktop app.

**Cursor CLI.**

1. Save the entry as `.cursor/mcp.json` at the root of a git repo. Outside a repo, the CLI does not see it.
2. In that repo, in your terminal:

   ```sh
   cursor-agent mcp enable toolbox-pod
   cursor-agent mcp login toolbox-pod
   ```

3. Your browser opens Toolbox POD. Sign in and click **Allow**.

Run login once. If it then says "Connection failed", wait a moment: `cursor-agent mcp list` shows it ready.

### Hermes

```sh
hermes mcp add toolbox-pod --url https://mcp.toolboxpod.com/mcp --auth oauth
hermes mcp login toolbox-pod
hermes mcp test toolbox-pod
```

Login opens your browser: sign in and click **Allow**. The test lists the Toolbox POD tools.

### OpenClaw (community-tested)

```sh
openclaw mcp add toolbox-pod --url https://mcp.toolboxpod.com/mcp --transport streamable-http --auth oauth
openclaw mcp login toolbox-pod
```

These steps come from people who use it. Tell us if they change.

### Any other MCP app

Add a remote server (Streamable HTTP) with the server address. Pick OAuth if it asks; there is no API key. The app
finds the sign-in pages by itself.

### Check it works

Ask: "Who am I on Toolbox POD?" If it names your account, you're connected.

## Signing in and approving

When you connect, a Toolbox POD page opens. Sign in (or sign up), check who is asking and which account you are
signed in to, and click **Allow**.

- The connection acts as you, with your role (Owner, Manager or Viewer) and the stores you can use.
- It is re-checked on every request. If your role changes or you are removed from the account, the connection
  follows at once.
- To stop it, click **Disconnect** on the Connections page: https://toolboxpod.com/app/connections. It stops on
  its very next request.

## What you can ask it to do

- **Design.** Describe a design, share a reference image, or both, and Toolbox AI draws it, print ready. Try
  another version, ask for changes, get name ideas. Art you already have works too: upload a PNG or a link to one.
- **Mockups.** See a design on a shirt in any color, on a lay-flat, folded or model photo. Ask for a new scene and
  keep it as a mockup template for your designs.
- **Order.** Get today's prices, a quick estimate, then a draft order with its exact total. It pays only inside the
  limit you set, and checks orders, holds, packages and tracking.
- **Publish to Shopify.** Invite-only, coming soon (request access at toolboxpod.com/shopify). Make a product from an
  approved design with your colors, sizes and retail prices, publish it to your store, or match products you already
  sell. Until your account has access, these tools aren't listed.
- **Import a Shopify store.** Ask it to connect the products you already sell: it lists them, uploads each print
  file, shows you the shirt and the color and size matches, then connects them 25 at a time. Your titles, photos,
  prices and descriptions stay as they are; Toolbox fulfills the connected variants.
- **Manage your WooCommerce listings.** With a WooCommerce store connected: publish a design to it (it shows you a
  preview first and publishes after you say yes), see your products, change them, or take them off the store.
- **Get help.** Open a support request about an order and check on it.

Same prices as the website. No fee to connect and no plan needed to order.

## Limits and safety

- **Nothing paid by default.** Until the account Owner sets a spending limit for the connection on our website, your
  AI can prepare orders and quotes, and you pay for them yourself.
- **ChatGPT and Claude pay on our website.** In ChatGPT and in Claude on the web, your AI never pays for an order: it
  gives you a link to toolboxpod.com, where you sign in, check the total and pay.
- **Your spending limit.** Set a cap per order, a monthly budget, or both, on the Connections page. An order over the
  limit is held with a reason and nothing is charged. Your AI can't raise its own limit.
- **Ask before each order.** On by default when you turn paying on. Each order waits for you to pay it on the
  website, even inside the limit.
- **Only the Owner pays.** Paying needs the account Owner. Managers and Viewers can't spend.
- **Hands off your card.** No tool can see or change saved cards, staff, API keys, spending limits or connections.
- **It asks first.** Tools that change or spend something are marked, so your AI app checks with you before it
  runs them.
- **AI images.** 20 free AI images a month with a card on file, at most 15 a day. Each design version or AI mockup
  background uses one. A Plus or Pro plan adds more: https://toolboxpod.com/pricing
- **Request limits.** Up to 60 requests a minute per connection. If your AI goes faster, it is told to wait a moment.

## Tools

Your AI app only sees the tools your connection allows. These tool names are what your app shows when it calls
one.

Listed when **More tools** is switched on for the connection on the Connections page. The product and Shopify import
tools are the exception: an account with Shopify access gets them whether More tools is on or off. Selling on Shopify
is invite-only, coming soon (request access at toolboxpod.com/shopify): without access they are not listed. The
WooCommerce tools work the same way for an account with a WooCommerce store, and aren't listed without one.

| `list_store_variants` | The variants a Shopify store already sells, their matches, and suggested colors and sizes |
| `refresh_store_variants` | Refresh a Shopify store's variant list (nothing is written to Shopify; a variant deleted in Shopify has its mapping disconnected here) |
| `map_product` | Match products you already sell on Shopify to a design |
| `publish_product` | Publish a product draft to its Shopify store |
| `list_shopify_products` | The products your Shopify store already sells, with photos, and which ones Toolbox fulfills |
| `preview_shopify_import` | Before connecting: the shirt, each variant's color and size match, and the print warnings |

## Troubleshooting

- **It says it isn't connected, or asks you to sign in again.** Sign in again from your app. If that fails, click
  **Disconnect** on the Connections page, then connect again.
- **"Unauthorized" about an hour after signing in (Cursor CLI).** A second login replaced the first. Run
  `cursor-agent mcp login toolbox-pod` once and finish it, restart any running `cursor-agent`, then disconnect the
  older Cursor connection on the Connections page.
- **A tool is missing.** Your role or the connection doesn't allow it, or it is a More tool: switch on More tools on
  the Connections page, then reconnect your app so its list refreshes.
- **An order is held.** Ask your AI why: it names the fix and the website page for it, such as turning paying on,
  raising the limit or adding a card. After the fix, ask it to try again. Nothing was charged.
- **Out of AI images.** The free allowance resets on the 1st of each month (UTC). A Plus or Pro plan adds more.
- **An older test connection.** Orders through it are simulated and never shipped, and it can't change your Shopify
  store. Connect your app again for real orders and publishing.
- **Connected with the old address** (`https://toolboxpod.com/mcp`)? It still works. Each address keeps its own
  sign-in.
